The Pakistan Council for Social Welfare and Human Rights
(PCSW&HR), a Civil Society Organization (CSO), was founded by 12
like-minded persons in 1992. The organization stands registered with the
Social Welfare Department, Government of the Pakistan, under the
Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance (XLVI
of 1961). PCSWHR is an organization, which deals with local communities
and civic societies for their social development and fundamental Human
rights, peace,
equality and social justice
from bottom to top level, through the process of social mobilization and
community empowerment in the developing areas of Pakistan. PCSW&HR
is a dynamic platform for different religious and creeds for their
better social protection and promotion of their civil rights.
Background
From a
long time, in Sialkot peoples needs a platform, which must work
altogether for the betterment of Muslims and non Muslims (Christians,
Hindus and Sikh etc) especially, for the development of multi-cultural,
inter-related and inter-religious harmony.
Therefore, PCSWHR was established in 1992 at Sialkot, which is
one of the largest Industrial and multi racial city of Pakistan on the
Indo Pak Control line. For the social equilibrium of humanity, NGO’s
General Assembly had adopted its name as “ Pakistan Council for Social
Welfare and Human Rights in the end of 1992 through unanimously
resolution on the motion of non Muslims members and agreed. The NGO.’s
primary objectives was the creation of understanding and harmony between
the different creed and sects of Region, for the establishment of
durable peace, equality and protection of fundamental human rights
through collective efforts. |
